FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
ABOUT OUR CREATIONS

Who makes this stuff?  My husband, Doug & I are the creators of the items on this site. We work from our home studio in The Colony, Texas. We have been creating artisian items together since we met over 14 years ago.

Where do the bottles come from? We obtain bottles from many different sources. Friends and family provide with most of the bottles. Through nfreecycling we have also met "recycling fanatics" like ourselves, who save their bottles for us. And, it doesn't hurt that we are great friends with the owners of CrossRoads Winery in Frisco, TX.

Can I put my wine, beer & soda bottle drinking glasses in the dishwasher?  In a word, Yes, these glasses are pretty robust, but like with any glass item you eat or drink from, be sure to check after washing to see that there are no chips or cracks, if so you better toss em into the recycling bin!

Is my slumped bottle food safe? Yes. When we receive a bottle first it is thoroughly cleaned, then it is kiln fired at temperatures exceeding 1400 degrees so any contaminants are burned off.  We do not apply any lead based coatings or paints to our creations.  Looking good is important, but safety is number one!

Can I put my slumped bottle in the dishwasher?
Bottles that are just decorated with etched decor may be put into the dishwasher, however, do note that some bottles have not sealed totally shut in the kiln firing and water may become trapped in the bottle (and that can look pretty icky). Please DO NOT put your slumped bottle in the dishwasher if it has decorative wire and beads as they are sensitive to the heat and harsh soap of the dishwasher. Your slumped bottle will last a very long time, if you treat it like any other special serving dish. Gently wash it with soap and water and dry it before storing. Don't use an abrasive sponges or cleaners on your slumped bottle. Be careful not to tap the slumped bottle against a hard surface or it may break, just like any other glass dish would.
